Happy Twin Tuesday!

It’s Valentine’s Day! In between your time eating Valentine’s Day Heart Shaped Cookies, and exchanging cards and sweets with your kiddies, we have some great Valentine’s Day Book Recommendations for you. Best of all, you’ll adore them all year long!

1. We Belong Together

This is the newest board book from writer/illustrator Joyce Wan, and it is such an adorable book to give to someone you love! The characters are deliciously sweet, as is the color palette and design.

Review from Amazon:

Because some things are just better together.

An ode to all the pairs that go together as perfectly as a parent and their child, this adorable board book is the perfect companion and follow-up title to YOU ARE MY CUPCAKE.

With a bright palette, irresistible art by Joyce Wan, and spot gloss and embossing on every spread, this is a surprising and imaginative way to show the special bond between parent and child!

2. Where is Baby’s Valentine?

This is an adorable book for very young ones. Since it’s a lift-the-flap, it’s engaging and surprising for your little ones to play with. It’s a cute idea for a baby’s first or second valentines as well!

Review from Amazon:

Baby made a valentine for Mommy. Where could it be?

Is it behind the lamp? No, those are pretty, sparkly flowers!

It’s a shiny, glittering delight as you lift the sturdy flaps to help Baby find her very special valentine.

3. Snowy Valentine

This is an adorable book we found in our Valentine’s Day search, and it’s also new for Valentine’s Day this season! David Petersen, illustrator of Mouse Guard, illustrates these bunnies just beautifully, you’ll want to gaze at these pictures all year round.

Review from Amazon

Step out into a snowy Valentine’s Day with Jasper the bunny as he searches the forest valley for a special gift for his loved one.

In his picture-book debut, David Petersen, the Eisner Award–winning creator of Mouse Guard, tells a delightful tale that becomes the perfect way to say “I love you.”

Bring this sweet story home to your Valentine today.

4. The Day it Rained Hearts

This is a classic holiday story that is a wonderful way to encourage your kids to give out original, unique Valentine’s to their friends. The book recently had a cover redesign, but the characters and charming watercolor vignettes are still just as wonderful as ever:

Review from Publisher’s Weekly on Amazon:

Originally published in 1983 as Four Valentines in a Rainstorm, Felicia Bond’s The Day It Rained Hearts follows young Cornelia Augusta as she makes creative use of a most unusual downpour. Along with the name change, Bond’s offering has also been enlarged, adding a generous white frame around sweet and simple vignettes of Cornelia fashioning a quartet of handcrafted Valentine’s Day cards

5. Plant a Kiss

This is probably our favorite new Valentine’s Day Themed Book out on the bookshelves this season. It’s the newest title from Peter Reynolds, who has teamed up with the great Amy Krouse Rosenthal, to create a fresh new Valentine’s Day story. Peter’s characters are cute as ever, while the story is all about ‘planting’ a kiss for Valentine’s Day and it’s growth.

Here’s the review from Amazon:

Little Miss planted a kiss . . .

One small act of love blooms into something bigger and more dazzling than Little Miss could have ever imagined in this epic journey about life, kindness, and giving.

New York Times bestselling author Amy Krouse Rosenthal and award-winning illustrator Peter H. Reynolds have teamed together for the first time, creating what may soon prove to be a perennial favorite.

But even more exciting is the video trailer for the book!!!
